Up News. Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow was hit by a sudden fire on Monday night. The fire broke out on the second floor of the hospital, which filled the entire hospital with smoke. As soon as the fire was reported, several officials including six fire engines, DCP South and DCP East arrived on the spot. Efforts to control the fire were immediately started. There was chaos in the hospital as soon as the fire broke out. About 200 patients hospitalized were evacuated safely. Initially there were reports of many patients being trapped, but the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) denied these reports. He said that all the patients have been taken out safely and no casualties were reported.
Smoke spread all around after a fire in the hospital's ICU building, causing an atmosphere of nervousness in the patients and staff. 2-3 patients admitted in critical condition were shifted to King George Medical University (KGMU), while other patients were admitted to nearby private hospitals.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak immediately reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. He instructed to control the fire and took latest information from the hospital administration and fire department. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also interacted with the higher officials and kept an eye on the whole situation and instructed to speed up immediate relief work.
CFO of Lucknow said that the team of fire brigade acted rapidly to extinguish the fire and postponed the loss of any life and property. A sigh of relief was taken after taking patients out safely. Currently, the fire has been completely controlled and the hospital administration is engaged in normalizing the situation. A major accident was averted due to rapid relief and rescue operations. All the patients were saved safely due to the promptness of the administration and fire department, due to which there was no loss of life
